Homepage cycling to WordPress backend
-
I have started creating my homepage using standard WordPress objects. When clicking to edit my homepage, the page cycles back through to the WordPress backend and I cannot edit the homepage at all.
This is the third theme I have tried and all seem to have the same problem – I’ll create the homepage and then I won’t be able to access it again as the page cycles to the backend.

Hi,
I’ve checked it, and I could see that there is no page set as the homepage at https://wordpress.com/settings/reading/jodieslibrary.wordpress.com
You’ll want to assign a homepage to your site. You can use any published page from: https://jodieslibrary.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=page or you can create a new one and the assign it as your homepage.
Here you have more info about this:
A home page is the front page of your site. Using the steps in this guide, you can control which page your visitors see first when visiting your website. Set the Homepage from Settings To set the homepage of your site, follow these steps: Visit your site’s dashboard. Go to Settings → Reading in the left sidebar: Locate the dropdown option Your homepage displays at the top oHope this helps!

Thank you for your response.
Unfortunately that has not worked. I have set the “Your homepage displays” dropdown to a published page but I am still unable to access the “editor”. I am however able to access the “classic editor”. Is this a bug with the newer “editor”?
This seems to be an issue when a page is published. I am unable to access the “editor” for a test page I have just published.

Thanks for the extra details! I can see that behavior too. It looks like it might be a bug that our team is trying to narrow down the exact cause. I’ve added your report to our internal issue and hopefully they’ll have an fix soon.
In the meantime, could you try switching to a different theme and see if that makes a difference? You can always switch back to Tronar if you choose.
Thanks!
