Hostgator Optomized WordPress hosting

  I paid for 1 year domain at Hostgator. They call their WordPress hosting plan Optomized. Is that the exact same as WordPress Pro hosting?

  We are not familiar with their offerings, but our pro plan is equivalent to most “managed” WordPress hosting providers. That is usually one level above “optimized” and I can confirm that our platform is definitely optimized for the needs of WordPress sites, since that is the only kind of site we host.

  Generally you will want to confirm your host includes the following, which we offer on the Pro Plan:

  • Automated updates of core software
  • Security scanning and brute force login protection
  • Incremental backups that are accessible to the site owner
  • in-house site support (not just hosting support) with live chat option

  This is in addition to the typical options to upload any plugin or theme you wish, direct access to site files and database (via SFTP and PHPmyAdmin) and other core features that are typical for most WordPress sites regardless of hosting.
