  Does wordpress do hosting?

  “WordPress” is the name of the open source software maintained by the community on WordPress.org. It is not a company or a hosting provider.

  To use the WordPress software, you need to install it on your own server, or with a hosting provider like Pressable, Bluehost, or SiteGround, among others.

  WordPress.com also provides WordPress hosting, but we are a managed host, meaning you have no direct control over your site’s server or software with us, and we restrict certain features based on your upgrade plan and for security reasons.
