    Do I need to pay HostGator for hosting my wordpress site or is it free?

    Hi there,

    If you want to use the open source WordPress software, like you’re using on your site, https://petebowergolf.com/, you either need to pay someone to host it for you, or you need to run your own server for the site. In other words, while the WordPress software is free, having it online where other people can access your site is not.

    The forum you’re posting in now is for a different hosting provider for the WordPress software, WordPress.com. Hosting a site with us is free, like your free site already hosted with us at https://petebowergolf.wordpress.com/. But we sell paid plans to add additional features to your site, like using your own domain.
