Hosting and custom domain with GoDaddy

    So I bought a custom domain and hosting with GoDaddy and wish to launch this website with the data of my current subdomain shrinitbadiyani.wordpress.com and self-host it with wordpress.org. I called goDaddy to setup the linux hosting but had to stop halfway as while uploading data to the file manager >public_html the executive said it needs to be a zip file with a lot of contents while when I take a backup from WP-admin through export option, I get 1 XML file which he says isn’t sufficient. Please guide on how to get this done.

    So, you are trying to export the content from your WordPress.com site shrinitbadiyani.wordpress.com over to your site now hosted at GoDaddy?

    If so, you will need to download the XML file here. Were you able to download that file successfully?
