Hosting Plans and Sub-Domains
-
At what hosting levels is the ‘Map a Subdomain’ function / feature available?
I’ve looked at these pages but can’t figure out the answer to this question:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-subdomain/
https://wordpress.com/hosting/
Thanks in advance for your help.

You can map a subdomain with any paid Personal plan or higher, or purchase individually as a Domain Mapping upgrade.

Thank you MacManx.
Is there a limit to the number of subdomains under one paid plan?

Hi SMiles, I don’t think there’s a limit necessarily, but please note they’ll all point to the same site, with one address chosen as primary. Every other subdomain will redirect to that.

Hello again. So, can other free wordpress blogs already on wordpress.com be routed / directed / mapped to sub-domains of a personal / premium (or higher) domain/url?
For example:
mywebsite.com is mapped as a personal plan site to mywebsite.wordpress.com
… can I then map another site.wordpress.com blog thusly:
myotherwebsite.wordpress to other.mywebsite.com hosted by wordpress ???
… and if I have another domain name (say, anotherwebsite.com) can I map it thusly:
anotherwebsite.com to other.mywebsite.com hosted by wordpress ???
Thank you.

Yes, if you have one WordPress.com site mapped to a domain, it’s possible to map additional WordPress.com sites to subdomains on the domain.
However, this requires a domain mapping upgrade, and that requires a paid plan. In other words, for every WordPress.com site you wish to map to a subdomain, you’ll also need to buy a paid plan.

Hmmm. It looks like it isn’t charging me for domain mapping, yet…
Also, I accidentally added a bad mapping subscription and can’t see a way to DELETE or REMOVE that mapping setup within the wordpress control panel / dashboard.
Any suggestions?

@smileslewis if you’re logged into an account that has a plan, sure. Just reach out directly: https://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
Please be sure you’re logged in as the user who bought the plan though. The purchase is under another account.
