Hosting wordpress behind nginx on our domain /blog

    Hi,

    We would love to host our blog for https://snappcar.nl on wordpress.com. But for SEO purposes we would like to have it on our main domain, on the /blog path. We would like to use nginx to reverse proxy our hosted wordpress.com site. I seem not to be be able to change the site url to respect it is hosted behind a reverse proxy.

    If this is not possible we would also love to know, we will search for a different provider.

    Hi there,

    What you’re describing is not possible on WordPress.com. You can only map a WordPress.com blog on a subdomain (blog.snappcar.nl), not on a subdirectory (snappcar.nl/blog).

    Furthermore, a reverse proxy doesn’t work with our service.

    For your needs, it’s better to host the blog on your server or some other hosting provider using the WordPress.org software.
