Hover problem on iPhone & iPad

  Hello,
  I am working on an event website, integrating hover box elements for some of the text content. So, there is no hyperlink anywhere, only a text within each hover boxes. They work perfectly on the website and on Android phones, but the boxes are totally inactive on iPhone and iPads.
  Would you please let me know what should be done in order to activate them on iOS?
