How can I access my WordPress Account.
-
As a fresher to WordPress I was having some difficulties installing WordPress on Linux. I deleted my account in the hope that I could re-use the domain on my Linux install. As this was not possible, I requested my old site back. so I could reuse the domain, after all jakesymons.wordpress.com is the only WordPress site with my name on it. That was created at WordPress’ suggestion when I made the original site jakesymonsbooks.wordpress.com
I tried to fill out the account recovery form several times and it would not accept the email, not the account email, but the one for receiving the email. Once I changed that it told me that I would have to fill out a lost password form.
After filling out the lost password form it told me it couldn’t do that because my account was deleted. When I clicked on the button again it would not accept the email activitation link.
I have sent numerous emails to WordPress but have not even reccived an automated reply, so I am also posting here because I would like to get on my site before all the data is purged forever.
Even if that is not possible I would like the domain to be transferred to this account so I could still use my name as my website, which has been my original intention.,
In this scenario what are the steps that I should be taking, including any proof that I require to get my account back before the data is purged?

It is possible to reverse a site deletion for the first 30 days after a site is closed. If you realize you closed your site in error, please contact us immediately. We will be able to assist you in restoring your site during this 30 day window. Once the 30 days have passed, all of your site data is purged and cannot be restored.

I have emailed several times, and contacted you immediately which I have mentioned in my original post. Should I just wait now for a reply, the reason why I bought this to the attention of the forums is because I don’t want 30 days to pass, as mentioned above.

I would also like to add that the link provided links back to this page. I am being told to contact you, and am doing so by this forum post and you leave me a message, to go and write a forum post!
I am unable to access any help at the moment from this, I only have a free plan but I didn’t think I had to subscribe to a monthly fee to get some basic help. If this is the case please let me know so I can take my business elsewhere.
This is a significant issue and not having the WordPress domain is holding up my efforts in creating my website and therefore my company and I am again posting in the hope that this is resolved as quickly as possible due to the limited time constraints.

Hi jakesymonswrites,
We sent confirmation to the email address on your other account when it was closed. I see you replied to that and one of our Happiness Engineers sent more information to you yesterday. We are unable help any further on these forums so please reply to us by email and we can look at the next steps there.
The Account Recovery form is for help with active sites, which is why you are unable to try and recover the site using that method.
If our reply hasn’t come through, please check your spam and social folders.
Thanks!

Thanks for your help, I got that email through.
I have one further follow up question:
I did not think that I would get my old site back going by what was said and my research so I created a new account. If I wanted to keep one of my domains, the jakesymonswrites one and ditch the other(a duplicate for one on my deleted account) would that be possible, or would have to log in to both accounts.
As in is it possible to transfer domains between user accounts?

Great, thanks for letting me know. The site was owned by a different account so we’ll need to continue following up with you by email about specific details — feel free to ask more questions there.

Yes, ownership of an active site can be transferred to another WordPress.com account:

This would mean both sites could be managed from one account going forward.
