How can I Block a User on WordPress

  Hi, there used to be a user on WordPress who followed me and now she doesn’t but for certain reasons I would like to block her. Is there any way I can do this? If there is not an option for this I would highly suggest creating one. Thank you, Sophia

  I also wanted to add something else that I just searched and on the reader feature of my account where one can see public posts or the users I follow I searched this user and under one of her posts I clicked on block this site. Once I did that it said you have blocked this user. So does this mean she can no longer access my blog??? Thanks.

  Hi there,

  There is no effective way to block subscribers, so it would be ineffective to provide the ability to manually unfollow or unsubscribe a user. A follower could create a new account, username, or e-mail address and refollow the blog. Since IP addresses are dynamic, blocking the address would not work either. Also, other users who are currently on the same IP address might inadvertently be blocked as well.

  However, I have a few recommendations: Make sure comment moderation is turned on Settings > Discussion so that all comments have to be approved. That way nothing will get through to the public side of your site without your approval.

  Alternatively, you can set your site to private and then invite only those that you desire to view your site.
