How can I delete my expired domain and use it in another website?

I have an expired domain, which I would like to be able to use on another website/blog and it says the domain is already in use. I click on my domain and it brings me to my old website, so it must still be in use somehow? Is there a way to totally clear it out and delete it? So that I can use it on another website?

  • Your expired domain, devinchase.com, has slipped into the “redemption” period. This is where it can still be renewed with the registrar, but requires the payment of a $80 late fee.

So at this point, your choices are to either renew the domain (paying the late fee) and then pointing its nameservers to your new webhost, or wait for a few more weeks and see if devinchase.com makes it all the way through the expiration process without being taken by someone else. If it does, then it will be available to register at the registrar of your choice.

Please let me know if you have further questions or if anything is unclear.
