How can I delete posts from front page and have them in category instead?

  Hi! I have a wordpress blog (www.downtherockyroad.wordpress.com) and I recently changed my layout, so that now instead of a static front page I have a custom page that automatically displays all my latest posts. But there are certain posts I would rather publish in a category and not have them on my Home page. Is there a way of selecting certain posts not to appear on the front page and in the category only?

  Set the date of those to be ten years ago and they will only show on the category page, but they will show way back.
