How can I eliminate the empty box blocking my header?

  I have created a custom header for my wordpress blog, and I do not require a box stating my name and tagline. Although I erased the information under the name and tagline section of editing, a small empty box remained in the top left corner of the header. I need to eliminate this box.

  That’s actually part of your theme.

  The only way to remove it would be to hide it via CSS with a Custom Design upgrade.
