How can I exit custom design preview when it won't let me?

Can’t exit custom design preview, it just tells me it can’t find what I want.

Howdy, I was able to load the customizer for your site here. I can also exit out of the customizer using the “Cancel” button.
Is that still not working properly for you? If so, could you loading it in Google Chrome? That’d help me narrow down what the cause is here. Thanks!

Hello Andrew – thankyou for your reply. It worked with Google but wouldn’t work with Internet Explorer for some reason.

Hi Majella, I’m glad you were able to get the customizer to work. :)
If you continue to have trouble with the customizer in Internet Explorer, I would be happy to help you with that. Can you just let me know what version of Windows and what version of Internet Explorer you are using? If you aren’t sure, you can check here: http://supportdetails.com/
Also, can you provide a screenshot of what you are seeing when you try to use the customizer in Internet Explorer? You can upload screenshots to your Media Library under Media > Add New in your dashboard, or you can use an online service such as Snaggy. Thanks!

Thankyou for your reply Rachel. I am using Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 10. The problem only occurs in the color section of Custom Design. The other thing I notice is that if I access the blog in Google Chrome, Customise shows under Manage Themes, it doesn’t do that in Internet Explorer.
I have uploaded a screenshot of what I see to my Media Library.

Hi Majella,
The problem you are describing sounds like you might be using the Compatibility View in Internet Explorer. Can you try turning it off using the instructions on this page:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-10
If that doesn’t resolve the issue for you, please let me know!

Hello again Rachel,
I have cleared history and turned off compatibility view but still have the same problem. I am wondering whether it is a problem in Internet Explorer 10 as in the last week Zazzle changed their website and I had trouble trying to make changes with it. I have had my computer checked out remotely and the techs can’t find a problem. With both wordpress and Zazzle it is find when I use Chrome. Crazy!

Thanks for sticking with me — I was able to reproduce the error you are having in Internet Explorer 10, and I reported it to our team for them to take a look. In the meantime, you may have to keep using Chrome to use the Customize tools.
