How can I get my site back up and running, IF I can’t even get back into my control panel.

While updating my site to 5.3, the page stopped at ‘copying required files…’ The page had been sitting there for more than twenty minutes, so I hit refresh page. And now I cannot get back into my control panel. How can I bring my site back up? I have a backup in my Dropbox.

  • I don’t see anything particularly wrong with https://sagaciousstevae.wordpress.com/

What is the URL of the site with the problem?

No sagaciousstevae is really old. I’d even forgot about it until now. This site is https://aquastevae.cf. And I already fixed it. After trying to update it, and it stopping in the middle it was DEAD!!! I couldn’t even get into the control panel. But I found a video, where the guy downloaded the newest version of WP. Deleted the content folder, and then uploaded it to the hosting site’s file manager. And boom, it fixed everything!!! It was amazing! Anyway, thanks for responding. I appreciate it.

  • Glad you got it working again.

For future reference, https://aquastevae.cf/ is not hosted on our servers at WordPress.com.

That site is hosted with another provider, and using the open source WordPress software made by the community on WordPress.org, which is something completely different from WordPress.com.

Should you need help with that site again in future, the best place to ask is at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

Yeah, it’s hosted on Infinityfree.com. Because WP is charging now for personal accounts, and infinityfree is free! So yeah, that is where I had to go to get into the control panel and fix all of that. Thanks for the link.

    Cheers,
    Stevae
