How can I get pictures and text to display the way I want them to? They move.

  Can’t get the content on my blog to display the way I want it to. Pictures and text jump all over the place and appear in completely different positions than when I align them in the editing box. What can I do to prevent this?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Well, unless you tell us HOW you are attempting to format them, what you are doing to get the results, we can’t tell you how to fix what you’re doing.

  I personally suggest lowering your standards. Unless you want to work in tables, things will always jump around.

  Dear Raincoaster,

  Thanks for your reply. I am just dropping the pictures and text into the editing box and aligning them.
  Not “formatting” them in any way.
  Am I better off pasting them from a Word document into the editing box?
  How would I work in tables?

  Thought WordPress would be a WYSIWYG type of format.

  No, do NOT use Word. It’s horrible and will ultimately screw up your blog.

  In order to use tables, familiarize yourself with the actual width of your theme and write a table in HTML code and put the elements inside, aligning them via HTML code. If that’s beyond you, don’t feel bad. It’s beyond me too.

  WordPress.com is good if you just want to blog and not fart around with the look of things. If you want to fart around with the look of things, some other platform might be better. I personally put in large images, centered and that saves SO MUCH TIME. If I have to do left and right alignment and text beside images I basically reconcile myself to having to post it and go back and fix it a dozen times.

  Dear Raincoaster,

  Thanks for your advice, makes perfect sense to me. I’m all in favor of now just putting the images in the center and the text either over or underneath. We’ll see how that works out.

  Wish someone would figure a WYSIWYG format. Make all of our lives much easier.

  Perhaps there is a coder who could do this and charge a small fee to use his widget.
