How can I get you to stop sending spam ads to my Linked-In site?
-
Why does WordPress persist in sending these spam adverts under my name to my Linked-In site. I really don’t want them and they are upsetting all my Linked-in contacts. I have paid for a no-ads update on my WordPress site and still they come! PLEASE PLEASE TOP THESE SPAM ADVERTS! Everyone hates them. Here is an example:

Hi there, that looks like this month’s WordPress.com blog post:
We send out an email copy of the WordPress.com blog only to the address under which a person has subscribed to the WordPress.com blog.
Could you please provide a screenshot of where you see this on your LinkedIn account so I can take a look?
Here’s a guide on how to make a screenshot, if you’re not sure: http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/
You can upload the screenshot in your Media Library and then post a link so I can see it.
Thanks.

Hi Kathryn,
Thanks for responding. I’ve taken a screenshot and put it in my media library. Here is the link http://timvicary.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=373&action=editIf you can stop this from happening I would be really grateful. It’s causing a lot of irritation.

Thanks for the screenshot.
It looks like a subscription to the WordPress.com blog has been connected to your LinkedIn profile somehow.
That isn’t currently possible on our side, so I suggest you look in your LinkedIn settings to see what’s set there. Does LinkedIn provide an email address that can be used to send posts directly to your profile? If so, and if you accidentally subscribed to the WordPress.com using that special post-by-email address, it would explain the current phenomenon.
You may also want to contact LinkedIn support to see if they can help you on their end.
If we know what that email is, we could then unsubscribe it from the WordPress.com blog.
Let us know how it goes.
