How can I have a short summary of each blog post on the home page and link to the full content?

I’m finishing up a blog of a week-long trip. However, each post has 12-18 photos and a lot of text. Is there a way to post a summary (or the first paragraph) of each post plus one photo on the home page and then link with a ‘Read more’ link to another page with the full text and all of the photos?
