How can I make the post slider appear on my Forever homepage?
-
On our site http://nickandgreta.wordpress.com (currently a private site, until we’re ready to share) I’ve activated the ‘Forever’ theme, and have made four posts sticky, each with a Featured Image that is at least 890 pixels wide. However, the featured post slider on the home page is nowhere to be seen. I also cannot for the life of me figure out how to have a rotating gallery of featured banner images on the home page, like on this site:

How can I fix this problem and have the gallery and/or slider show up?

UPDATE: In Settings/Reading we had checked the box for a static home page. Once un-checked, the featured images and sticky posts appear as a scrolling image gallery (like the blog referenced above).
This is actually not what I was trying to do – rather, I want to have the posts in columns on the home page with a small featured image for each. In Theme Options/Appearance, we have checked the box [Show four of your latest posts in columns on your home page.] but that doesn’t appear to be working.

You almost have it right, you just need to make the posts sticky: http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/#sticky-posts

I think I was unclear on what the slider was vs. the recent posts below. Thanks for the reply – when the posts are sticky, they slide, when they’re not sticky, they show up as the recent posts. Is there any way to have them show up both in the slider AND as the recent posts below?

Not really, there’s no way to do that.
In this case, once you have a few more posts, it’ll look a lot better.
