How can I "move" a domain and register it with WordPress? (not mapping)
-
An IT guy at my work bought the domain inclusivebusinessmgmt.com a few weeks ago, which I’ve been trying to map to my blog thetestingground123.wordpress.com. However, the registrar for the domain couldn’t change the DNS so I have been trying to find an alternative solution to use this domain.
He told me that he has freed up the domain to be re-purchased through a new Provider, but it is still showing as being owned by someone and WordPress isn’t allowing me to buy it. He wrote me that the domain has to be “moved” (this is a translation from German so I hope that makes sense) and that the new provider will have to do that as he’s not sure how it goes.
This is quite urgent, so I’d really appreciate any tips!!

Hi there,
Thanks for getting in touch. While we register new domains here at WordPress.com, we’re not able to accept incoming transfers of existing domain names. If your current registrar is unable to help you change the DNS, you may want to transfer your domain to another registrar such as GoDaddy.
You can then use this guide to complete your domain mapping: Map an Existing Domain
If you have any questions about this, please let me know!
