How can I refund my WordPress.com Premium?
-
Hi there,
I would like a refund on my $99.00 which I purchased today. I didn’t realise exactly what I was purchasing and have realised I don’t need Premium anymore.
I know you can get a refund within 48 hours, how do I go about it?
Amelia.

I’d be happy to refund your WordPress.com Premium upgrade for you. Since you’ve used it to register a domain name, there are two ways we can proceed:
1) I can refund your entire Premium purchase, including your domain ae-p.me. This will lead to a total refund of $99. Your domain will become unavailable for several weeks; after this period, anyone may purchase the domain name. If you’d like a complete refund, and are okay with the prospect of potentially losing ae-p.me, this is the way you’ll want to proceed.
2) If you want to keep your domain, I can refund your Premium purchase, less the domain registration fee. This will lead to a total refund of $67. You will be able to continue to use your domain name, ae-p.me, or you can transfer it to use with another service elsewhere.
Please let me know how you’d like to proceed.

Hiya,
I’d like to keep the name so it would be great if you could refund the $67.
Thanks so much.
Amelia.

Hi again,
I’m trying to transfer my domain name to a hosting site and have the code and the domain unlocked but it doesn’t seem to be working.
Could you help?
Thanks again,
Amelia.

I have refunded the $67. So that should be all set now. Please be aware that it can take up to 7-10 business days for refunds to show up on your statement.

Regarding the domain transfer:
How far through these instructions do you get before things stop working:

It all works then I send my code to the new host. When they try to transfer they tell me it doesn’t work and I go back into wordpress and find the domain locked again.

Hi there,
It all seems a bit of a hassle, actually. Thanks for all your help but would you mind refunding me the money, the last $33, as the transfer doesn’t seem to be working.
Cheers,
Amelia.

Although now I don’t seem to be able to enable private registration again. It just says “oops, something went wrong”

I have processed that refund for you and canceled the domain. Please be aware that it can take up to 7-10 business days for refunds to show up on your statement.
Please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.
