I have set up a new blog and want to delete an old blog that I registered a long time ago and never used. I do not have the login details to the old blog any more and would like to know how to retrieve them in order to delete the old blog. The old blog I need to delete is http://kathmfarrell.wordpress.com/
    Blog url: http://kathfarrelleditorial.wordpress.com/

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You will need Staff help. In order to help you get access to your blog Staff need one of the following things in order to correctly identify you as the blog owner:

    1. an email from the email address associated with the account or revealing what that associated email address was
    2. the wordpress.com API key for your account. This was included in your welcome email with a note to keep it safe. Please do not post the API key here.
    3. if you have purchased any upgrades for the blog a transaction number send it to the email address I posted above.

Do you have any of these?

I don’t think I have these but will keep trying, old email address I think. How do I contact staff directly? Thanks for the info.

You can’t contact Staff directly but I have flagged this thread for their attention.

  • The email address on that blog is kat[…] (at) googlemail.com

Does that sound familiar to you?

Yes, this is an old googlemail address that has been merged into my current gmail address. I can’t access the googlemail any more and I don’t have any emails relating to the old blog even though they should show up in my gmail. Is there any way I can delete the old account as it has been inactive for so long?

If you can remember how to log in – don’t worry about “deleting” the blog – just set it to private or delete the individual posts – (use bulk edit) – then search engines will slowly delete you from their cache

Thanks everyone, I finally managed to set it to private. You’ve made a novice blogger very happy!
