How can I transfer my blog content to a new domain host.

  I would like to transfer my existing blog over to a self hosted site. I’ve selected Hostgator which is one wordpress recommends. Can you please tell me:

  1. What I need to do to transfer my images across to the new host?
  2. Will you allow ftp access for me to able to download images?

  Thank you, I will review the links you provided. I have considered the guided transfer option and probably would have gone ahead with it had it been available, which apparently it is not until 10 April…
