How can I transfer my domain and get a refund?

    I want to get a refund and transfer my domain name. I accidentally created and paid for a domain using wordpress.com. I have a theme and would like to create my site using wordpress.org and therefore will have it hosted by anotehr service. If I transfer it can I still get a refund?

    Domains cannot be transfered to another registrar for 60 days after registration. This is an ICANN rule that registrars cannot waive.

    The good news is that you can easily point the domain you registered at WordPress.com to another server (hosting service), with these steps:

    Change a Domain’s Name Servers

    You’ll need to obtain the name server values from your current host. You should be able to find them on their support documentation, or contact them and ask for the information. (Name servers may be referred as “nameservers” or “NS records” instead.)
