How come my website is displayed without the www?

I bought a domain name and hosting with namecheap.com but built website in wordpress.com. I have now linked the two and namecheap says you are now the host. How come my website now is displayed as yourchiro.co.uk and not the full http://www.yourchiro.co.uk? This is frustrating as I have paid for the full domain http://www.yourchiro.co.uk I would appreciate your help with this.
