How do i add blog features to my theme?

Im trying to figure out how to add a blog feature similar to this one http://autofocusdemo.wordpress.com/
to my website (www.savealice.com/home) which is hosted by register.com but runs on wordpress with a Portra theme. (http://wpshower.com/themes/portra/)
That particular these has everything i need in my website except for a blog feature. Would i need to write the script myself and somehow add it to the theme through the editor or can i just combine my wordpress blog as a page on my website?

This is the WordPress.COM support forum. You need to post to the WordPress.ORG support forum for help with your site because it is not hosted by WordPress.COM.WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and run different versions of some themes with the same names http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.
