HI there, I’m interested in setting up a google analytics tracking system on my blog but I can’t do it because it is not a self-hosted site. Since I didn’t know about this beforehand, how can I keep everything the same but have the google analytics tracking system on my wordpress.com blog?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

WordPress.com does not currently support Google Analytics tracking. However, we do offer built-in statistics showing you most of the same types of information as Google Analytics would display.

You can view your site’s stats by clicking the stats link in the grey admin bar at the top of your site. To find out more about how stats are measured and reported, see the following help page: Stats

You can also install Google Webmaster Tools, which contains some of the same functions as Google Analytics: Webmaster Tools

Another option, if you require Google Analytics, is to set up a self-hosted WordPress site using the free software from WordPress.org. That’s different from a site hosted here at WordPress.com, and it entails some additional setup and responsibilities. You can read more about the differences here: WordPress.com and WordPress.org
