How Do I Avoid Too Many Redirects Message on iPhone?
-
Hello,
I have driven myself crazy (short drive) trying to solve the issue of my iPhone not being able to access my site, brucekeener.com, because of “too many redirects.” I have several devices, like many folks do, including iPhone, iPad, Kindle Fire, Nexus 7, an iMac, and a Windows Laptop. Safari on the iPhone is the only browser I have encountered that has the “redirect problem.”
I have searched the forums and done my share of googling the subject and have nothing that provides a solution. The typical response is “Wait 72 hours after DNS transfer and the problem should go away.” Enom changed my DNS settings a couple of weeks ago, and the site properly propagated within 24 hours.
Some have said that the problem is due to the mobile plugin used by WordPress.com. I have tried setting the use of mobile to “no”, and that does not help, and I have tried this with a few different themes (chunked, minimum, 2012), both with and without the use of the WordPress.com mobile plugin.
I am stumped. I suspect the problem is somehow due to my transferring from a Google Blogger account. Although I did what I was supposed to with Enom, I still wonder if there is “some residue of association with Google Blogger,” although I do not see how that could be happening.
I have virtually no traffic at this point, so it’s not like there are thousands of people unable to access my site via an iPhone. But, it certainly needs to be fixed, even though not urgent.
Am I going to have to start using brucekeener.wordpress.com as the primary and just forget about my registered brucekeener.com domain?
Help much appreciated.
Thank you,
Bruce Keener

By the way, the redirect problem is only for my homepage. I can access my About page and any post without issue.
