How do I cancel my domain?

    I would like to delete my existing domain with wordpress.com I created it when I first started my business and have since created a separate self hosted website and blog. This old empty blog is confusing my customers and clogging blog searches. How do I do this since it is a free wordpress? I already looked at your help information on this and was unable to delete it through your information.

    If you would like to delete your WordPress.com site, there are options and instructions for doing so here:

    Please bear in mind that once deleted, that site’s WordPress.com URL will become permanently unavailable for future use. If you feel that you might need that URL again in the future, you might want to choose one of the other options listed on the the page linked above.
