How do I change my blog's site address?
-
Hi, I’ve recently created my first blog, with a godaddy.com purchased domain and a godaddy.com purchased hosting. I’ve been using the built in wordpress app to create the blog. This morning I purchased a new domain name and I wanted to change over the site’s address to the new domain name.
When on the settings page of wordpress dashboard, I tried changing the two options the URLs listed to the newly purchased domain name. Now I cannot get to my already-created website – it gives me a generic InstantPage by godaddy for the start of my webpage and I cannot get back to the dashboard when typing in my login and password under my original webpage’s /wp-admin. Do you know what I should do to get back to my normal dashboard? And how can I change my already-created site over to my new domain? Ideally I’d like the newly purchased name to be the main name that shows in the address bar, but both the new and old domain names go to the same webpage.
I’m definitely not an IT guy so any help would be much appreciated.
Justin

Hello Justin,
That’s WordPress.ORG site and we cannot help with it here at WordPress.COM. Support is provided on the WordPress.ORG support forums and they are here http://wordpress.org/support/ If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.org, click that link and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the correct support forums for your software.
