How do I choose what image from the blog gets posted when I link it to facebook?
-
When I make a wordpress blog post, when I publish it, I have it connected with Facebook, so it automatically makes a facebook post. This is great. But I don’t ever get to choose which images is featured when it links to facebook, and I can’t change it. This makes my facebook followers uninterested in reading the blog post, because the picture sometimes will default to my GRAVITAR. I don’t want my gravitar on every facebook post when I publish a blog post!! I have scoured the help pages, but can’t find anything that will allow me to change this setting or feature. Please help!!!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
When you’re using Publicize, we do our best to select an image from your post to include when it’s publicized. You can find an outline of how the image is selected here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/#images-in-publicize
There currently isn’t a way for you to select the image that is publicized with your post. However, if you’re unhappy with the selected image you can delete the Facebook post and manually share your blog post on Facebook. That way, you can pick which image is shown with your post.
If there’s a specific blog post that you think was incorrectly publicized (for example, if your Gravatar was selected instead of an image in the post itself) you’re welcome to send me a link to the post and I can take a closer look at it for you. :)

Thank you–I think I will just manually post to facebook from now on.
When I made my recent post (http://busymockingbird.com/2013/11/06/exquisite-corpse/), and hit “publish,” when it posted to facebook, the default image in the facebook post was that of my gravitar, despite having several useable images in my post. Other times, it has been known to default to the “Freshly Pressed” banner from my site when it posts to facebook.
I think, as you mention, it might be better for me to manually share the blog post via facebook to be able to choose the image that corresponds to the blog post. Thank you very much!

Hi there,
Thanks for giving me the link to your recent post. Unfortunately, this is a known bug that happens with Facebook sometimes — we’re sending them the images in your post, but for some reason Facebook doesn’t use them.
If you’re interested, you can see the information we send Facebook when that post is publicized in the Facebook debugger. If you go to that link, you’ll see your post’s images next to “og:image” — that’s what we’re sending Facebook to go with your post.
Unfortunately, you can also see on that page that Facebook gives the error “Provided og:image is not big enough. Please use an image that’s at least 200×200 px.” Of course, your images are definitely more than 200×200 pixels! This bug has been reported to Facebook, but it hasn’t been resolved yet: https://developers.facebook.com/bugs/483025408453290
That may be more information than you were looking for, but the short answer is that for now, manually posting to Facebook is probably your best bet. Let me know if I can help with anything else!
