how do I choose what page my blog goes to?

I am wanting to create another page for different types of blog posts. Once I do, How Do I choose which page each post goes to?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can assign various categories to posts, then use a custom menu to link to your assorted category pages.

Is that the only way? I’ve tried to learn how menu’s work and can’t figure it out. I got categories down though.

It’s not possible to have more than one blog or posts page on a WordPress.com site. The closest thing to that is to use what WordPress calls category pages. A category page is really a type of archives page. I don’t know why they don’t call them category archives pages.
I presumed you wanted to add a link to one category in the header menu bar. Because category links are dynamic (That is, they update when you add another post in that category.) they can not be added like a static page to the default menu. You’d have to switch to a custom menu. We can help you with that transition.
I notice also that you’ve got links to two category archives pages in your category widget. The “Highlighted Artist” links goes to the category archives page https://rappingforsuccess.wordpress.com/category/highlighted-artist/. The “Rapper Tips” link goes to the corresponding category archives page.

What I want to do it like what http://www.getrichrapping.com has done with theirs. They also used wordpress.com, but their blogs are split between Music Industry Advice and Mindset Advice. How do I give the individual category, their own page like he did?

That’s done with a custom menu. No other way. On Get Rich Rapping:
- Mindset link goes to the category page http://getrichrapping.com/category/mindset/.
- Music Industry link goes the category page http://getrichrapping.com/category/music-industry-2/.
They had to create those in the same way I suggested to you above. The categories are assigned to various posts. The links are formed by adding category page menu items to a custom menu.

I see you have the links to the two category pages in your menu bar now. That was quick. Did I miss those before?
