How do I correct an article-level tag that doesn't lead anywhere?

Hi, I hope someone can help me with this.

I have the tag “analysis” for many of the posts on my website musicinnotes.wordpress.com. I noticed today that when I click on the active “analysis” tag link, the link is for the tag “analysis-2”. I am not sure how this was created. How could there be two with the same name? Further, if you try going to https://musicinnotes.wordpress.com/tag/analysis manually, no posts are returned.

Within WordPress, the tag is “analysis” and I don’t see an obvious way to fix this.

Is there a way to fix this so that all my current posts that have “analysis” as a tag can be updated to go to ttps://musicinnotes.wordpress.com/tag/analysis and not ttps://musicinnotes.wordpress.com/tag/analysis-2 ? Hoping the fix will be such that I don’t have to do anything to each post individually.

    Thanks!

  • Hi –

The suffix behavior of -2 is expected. It’s similar to how a deleted post or page would behave as well. There’s no way to change that to my knowledge. I will ask my colleagues just to be certain.

My suggestion would be to use a different tag all together which would allow you to avoid the -2.
