how do I delete a category

I can’t seem to edit the actual appearance of my site. The boxes let me click, but they are light grey, and don’t actually let me edit them
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

1. To edit or delete a category assigned to a post (whether it’s a draft or has already been published), go to Dashboard → Posts → All Posts in your dashboard, hover over the title and click the Edit link. To delete the post click the Trash link.

2. To edit/delete categories in your dashboard go to Dashboard → Posts → Categories

3. To edit or delete dynamic category pages from your custom menu go to Dashboard > Appearance > Menus
