How do I design my own?

  I want to create an HTML website of my own simple design. I know HTML, but as with old Front Page would prefer to flip between webpage view and HTML.

  Hi,

  If you are looking to build an HTML site, I would suggest not using WordPress (or WordPress.com). WordPress is a website builder that was specifically created to allow users to NOT have to have an extensive (or really even passing) knowledge of HTML.

  You might be better off with a basic webhosting package with FTP access somewhere.

  To be clear, you CAN use HTML on a WordPress site. The custom HTML block is one of the easier ways to do so on WordPress.com:

  However, WordPress.com also has limitations on what code can be used. This may be limiting to someone who is adept in using HTML:
