    If you mean a custom domain, like mysite.com, the only way I’m aware of to find out whether a custom domain is already registered is by doing a WHOIS search or by trying to register it. If you need some inspiration, WordPressdotcom Go has lots of articles https://wordpress.com/go/tag/domain/ to help you.

    If you mean a WordPressdotcom site subdomain, like mysite.wordpress.com, you can try to register it and if it is available you’ll be able to register it.
