How do I disassociate my last name from my blog?

For privacy reasons I have never used my last name on my blog. I moderate all comments and edit out any references to city or identifying information. I have a unique name, there are 2 of me in the entire USA, and since I write a family blog I avoid this information from being published. However, when you type my URL into google my last name shows up as the title of the link! I have changed my privacy settings and google is respecting that, but the title of my blog has never been and should not be my last name! I have gone through the settings section of my blog and do not see my last name associated with anything. I need to know how to separate that identifying information from my site. Thank you for your help.

Does it appear or has it ever appeared in your public profile Settings and/or your Gravatar settings?

Usually this happens because someone has linked to your blog using your identifying information, eg someone posted to a Public Facebook wall “Go see Bob Snzzzlrickie’s new blog” and linked to you. Bam! The information is out there and there’s nothing you can do about it.

I think it is because someone linked to my blog with my last name. I asked them to change it years ago. But I guess like you said it’s already out there. Sigh… thanks for the help.
