How do I display a sidebar on my blog

I have recently started a blog with the plane theme. I have tried to add a sidebar with widgets using the customise themes or dashboard but when the blog displays, the widgets are at the bottom of the page. Do I need to learn coding in order to change this?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there!

I’m currently seeing an Archives widget and a Recent Posts widget in your sidebar. Do you need more help with this?

Hello – I am sorry if I am not quite getting this, but I am seeing the widgets at the foot of the page. I thought a sidebar would appear at the right hand side of the page. Is that possible? I have tried logging out to view the page as a user, but I am seeing the same thing. It would be good to know what’s possible and not possible. Thanks

Can you give me a specific link to where you’re seeing this? Here’s what I see when I visit your site:

It sounds like you may be viewing the tablet version of your site. Could you tell me your screen resolution? You can find this out by visiting this site:

    http://dpi.lv/

I need the numbers next to “Resolution”.

I have a small notebook computer. It is 1024 x 600 and about same size as tablet. Is that the reason I’m seeing the sidebar at the bottom? If I looked from another computer would I actually see sidebar on the side? Thanks

That would explain it. The standard breakpoint for desktop displays is 1224. If you opened your site on a screen that’s slightly larger, then you’d see the widgets in the sidebar.

Thanks a lot. I couldn’t figure out what was wrong as I was trying to follow instructions. That saves a lot of frustration.

Happy to help! Sorry for the confusion.
