How do I edit my blog from multiple devices?

  When I was at my boyfriends, I installed wordpress and started my blog. When I got home, I could not log in from my laptop, so I installed wordpress on this device, but when I logged in, my blog had been wiped completely clean. I had to start over. Now that I am planning on selling my laptop and getting something different, I am worried of losing everything I have developed. How can I prevent this from happening?
