How do I enable automatic domain renewal when the blog was transferred to me?

  • Unknown's avatar

My site cfgseregion.wordpress.com was originally created by WordPress user joeldjones ((email visible only to moderators and staff)). After creating the site, joeldjones also purchased the custom domain name upgrade (cfgseregion.com). Once the site was complete, he transferred the site ownership over to me (cfgstevejohnson).

The issue I am running into is that I am unable to set up the automatic domain renewal because joeldjones originally did it on his account. Now that I am the site owner, how can I set up automatic domain renewal?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

P.S. I believe you go to > Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades

    Keep Your Upgrades in Order

    Hi there,

The site cfgseregion.wordpress.com was transferred to your account, but the original owner still owns the domain upgrade on that site. (Only the person who owns the upgrade can renew it, and that can be different from the blog owner.)

We can move the domain upgrade to your account so you can manage and renew it, but we need the original owner to confirm that he wants to transfer the upgrade to you. He can post a reply in this forum thread to confirm, and I can take care of moving the upgrade for you.

Please let me know if you have any questions about this!
