How do i export my paid-for premium themes and add-ons

    I have exported my WordPress site to a hosting platform, however, the premium theme and customisable options are not available. Is there something I need to do?

    Hi there!

    When you export your site, your theme and customizations are not included. It looks like you were using the theme Suits, which you can download here:

    http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/suits/

    At the bottom of the right sidebar, you’ll see a download link.

    Because your site is self-hosted with a different provider, support staff at WordPress.com do not have access to your site’s files or the ability to provide support for your site.

    It sounds like you should contact your host’s support team for more assistance.

    I found out yesterday from a single one line response on a vaguely titled forum question that I could only use a premium theme on a wordpress.com hosted site. As I only purchased the theme within the past 30 days I was able to cancel the purchase and the customisation (That’s why my site currently has reverted to the free suits theme).

    I now see that to use the equivalent of the premium theme on a WordPress site hosted by another hosting agent, you must buy the equivalent theme directly from the supplier (in this case InkThemes for Infoway) and download the zip file of the theme. Then, using ftp, transfer the unzipped files to the themes directory of my new, externally hosted, WordPress site.

    I believe that the theme then appears as an option in my dashboard / menu when I log on.

    Phew. That all seems a bit bonkers, but hey. No wonder there is money to be made by people helping laymen like myself and doing it for us!
