How do I find out who is posting this comment

    I received a comment on my blog in the early hours of this morning from someone called ‘notveryfunny’ on my most recent blog post. As I am new to the blogging world I wanted to see whether I could find out in some way who posted it? The person doesn’t have a wordpress account and didn’t add their email as when I view the comment it says ‘(email visible only to moderators and staff)’. I personally think its someone who I personally know and they wanted to leave a semi anonymous message and is poking fun at me in some way. I don’t actually care that they commented I just wanted to see if I could find out who they were and if they used a facebook, twitter, or google account as I know they could login and comment with these domains? I know the comment and the username is relatively mild but I have been a victim of cyberbullying in the past so any form of internet trolling is a sensitive subject to me.

    Hi,

    It is not necessary for either WordPress.com members or non-members to provide their email address with a comment, unless you specify this as a requirement at Discussion Settings. However, the “email redacted” note in your post above suggests that an email address may have been removed. What did you provide that was interpreted as an email address?
