How do I get multiple recent_posts on the one page?

I would like to have the recent posts for 3 different categories on the same page, but it doesn’t work.
It seems like you are unable to have multiple recent_posts shortcodes on a page.
Can someone please help? The page in question is pasted below:

If you need support for that site you are posting to the wrong support forum. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and have separate logins. If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.
