How do I get my custom domain to work?

My custom domain is not working. I see a message that says DNS needs to be updated? I don’t know how to do that. Also I got this message:”Domain Not Registered
It looks like the domain crtjax.org has not been registered. You can register and associate it with your blog from your domain management screen.”I have crtjax.org set as the primary domain. It is brand new and created specifically for wordpress–not used at another site. It’s been about a week, but I can’t figure it out. please help me make crtjax.org work!

You have purchased Domain Mapping for crtjax.org. This is the upgrade you would use if you had previously registered crtjax.org at another domain registrar and wanted to use it with your WordPress.com site.
It sounds to me like you were trying to register crtjax.org and not purchase mapping, is that correct?

Yes, that’s right. Crtjax.org has not been previously registered at another domain registrar. Can the mapping be canceled so I can just set it as the primary?

I’ve reset that for you.
Simply log into your WordPress.com site’s dashboard, click on Store–>Domains, enter crtjax.org in the “add a domain” box and click the “add domain” button. Then simply follow the instructions that appear to register your domain.
