How do I get my domain unlocked to transfer?

  I have purchased a domain name with WordPress and need the code to transfer to another provider

  Hi there,

  What is the domain? The account you’re using to post here was only created four days ago, and doesn’t own any sites or domains with us.

  Only someone logged into the account that owns a domain can unlock it for transfer. You’ll find that option under My Site ->Manage ->Domains.

  Note that if you bought your domain fewer than 60 days ago you won’t be able to unlock it for transfer. ICANN regulations require that all domain provider place any new domain under a transfer lock for 60 days after registration, and after certain changes are made to a domain.

  If your domain is currently transfer-locked, you can point it to another provider by changing the name servers in the meantime, until the transfer lock is lifted.
