How do I get my personal domain to load my WP content?
-
Hi.
I’ve just designed a complete website using wordpress to replace the site I previously had on my own server.
I’ve paid for the upgrade to have my domain mapped through wordpress but i’m confused on how to make ‘my_domain.com’ load my wordpress content when entered into a browser. Now both my .wordpress.com URL and my_domain.com URL load the content from my own server…. How do I fix this? is there something I need to do with my own server settings to fix this? Please help. Total noob in trouble here!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It’d be easier to help you if you’d give us the actual links you’re talking about. Sometimes it’s just a bit of DNS trouble.
On the WP.com side, have you set your new URL as primary? DO that on the Domains page and remember things can take hours to settle down, or even a couple of days.

Great. Thanks.
So the links are: http://www.projectedtwin.com and my WP link is: http://www.projectedtwin.wordpress.com
I have set my own domain as the primary, but you’ll see when you try both links that they load the content of my previous site on my personal server.

It can take 24 to 72 hours for things to settle down and the changes to migrate across the world – you can also have problems with local caching of content by your local ISP and routers external to your PC –

Works just fine for me now! I’m in Vancouver btw. Different parts of the world will resolve faster or slower.
