How do I get the slideshow page template to work?

In the theme “Adventure”, there is a page attribute page template called slideshow (which I assume displays a slideshow as the feature image). I cannot seem to find a way to get the feature to work… If this is not what the template is for, how can I create a full-page slideshow (to display pictures of my organization on the front page).

The Adventure theme has instructions for setting up both the Home Page Image Gallery and the Slideshow Page Template on its support page here:
