How do I get thumbnails to show on a feed using a basic wordpress blog?

  how do I get thumbnails to show in my feed

  I have a site with several hundred feeds from photo blogs
  <www.citydailyphoto.org> and cannot read photo feeds from many wordpress.com sites. What instructions can I give these basic wordpress blog owners to show thumbnails in their feeds?

  Note that there are no problems with feeds from other major blogging platforms, so I suspect it is a wordpress setting, I just can’t find where!

  I gather that WordPress (bless ’em) have a facility called “featured images”.

  I suspect that as long as an image is a “featured image” then the problem is solved. I shall confirm this if I am correct.

  If I am not, I presume I shall be bowled over with further assistance! ;-)
