How do I have two separate sites?

  I have purchased a domain name. I want it to be independent, not associated with my other domain. I need two sites not a primary and a secondary.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  You can create a new site from your My Blogs page, by clicking on the Create Another Blog button there.

  Once your new site is created, you can transfer your new domain name to that site. To do that, you can go to Store > My Upgrades in the dashboard of the blog that currently has both domains. Next to the domain you want to move, you can use the “Transfer to another site” link to move it. We have more about that here: My Upgrades: Transferring Upgrades

  On ‘My Upgrades’, when I click ‘Transfer to another site’ no dialogue or confirmation box appears, as stated on the support site, but only an information box.

  I have just acquired a domain name called soundingrainbows.co. At present it is linked to the tradsfolkarts site, but I would like it to be a completely separate site, so if someone put in soundingrainbows.co into a search engine, it would come up independently with no link to the other site. I would also like it to be a customised site.

  Hi there,

  I can certainly help you with that. I see that you already have a WordPress.com site at the address http://soundingrainbows.wordpress.com/ — would you like me to move your domain soundingrainbows.co so it’s linked to that site instead?

  You can then buy the Custom Design upgrade for that site if you’d like it to have those customization features, as well.

  The aim is to have a soundingrainbows.co.uk separate website from the trads one, so, if this is the solution, then yes, please.

  Thanks for confirming. I moved soundingrainbows.co so now it’s separate from the other site. You can manage it from your My Blogs page or from the site’s dashboard here:

  https://soundingrainbows.wordpress.com/wp-admin/

  It may take a little time for that domain change to take full effect, so you might still see the other site when you visit soundingrainbows.co. However, that will update itself after a bit.
