How can I install Google Analytics into my website? When I searched that online, I found these directions:
This section describes how to install the plugin and get it working.
1. Delete any existing gapp or google-analytics-for-wordpress folder from the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
2. Upload google-analytics-for-wordpress folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
3. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
4. Go to the options panel under the ‘Settings’ menu and add your Analytics account number and set the settings you want.However, I cannot find any of those folders or the plug-in directory. Help?

This would be the directions to install the plugin on the self-hosted WordPress.org install. Currently you are using WordPress.com. To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities. At WordPress.com, we provide hosting, support, and tons of features for blogs. Users also have the option to purchase a variety of upgrades to customize the look and feel of their blog. WordPress.org is a software for self-hosted sites. With WordPress.org, users are provided access to all backend files and can upload custom themes and plugins.
